Project Information



Vocational and technical hotel- and catering schools will work together in order to create a basic European training course for kitchen and restaurant. The final product of this project will be:

  1. a website with the course in pdf and supporting Power Point and video presentations about basics for kitchen, bar and restaurant

  2. an on-line testing platform

  3. an introduction to the national kitchen

The final product will be available in all the languages of the partners in the project.
During an exchange students will have the opportunity to learn about the receiving country and to be introduced in the possibilities of a work placement in the future.

The aim of this project is:

  1. to obtain an overall and standard cooking and serving guide that can be used in school education, e-learning and on the work floor all over Europe.

  2. to introduce national kitchens in the practical education of students studying kitchen and restaurant.

  3. to create a team of hotel schools in Europe willing to generalise the basics of modern cooking and serving and to disseminate those results in their own country.

  4. to continue the collaboration between hotel schools and to add new hotel schools in order to improve the number and quantity of student mobilities under Leonardo da Vinci. All partners will act as co-mentor during the work placements of students of the schools in the project as well as of schools who already participated in the Leonardo da Vinci Partnership Preuhotra.

  5. to disseminate the results of the Leonardo da Vinci pilot project GEMS to new schools and countries in Europe
